About this Event
March is Women's History Month and we are celebrating with an all women jazz trio! The trio features Los Angeles based musicians Sophia Augustine (bass) and Jackie Rush (drums) as well as Alex Sjobeck (piano).
Jazz bassist Sophia Augustine recently graduated from Cal State University Northridge with a bachelors in Jazz Studies. Currently based in Los Angeles, she just recently recorded an album with Sam Tru as well as played on a newly released album called Lana Drincic and Friends by Lana Drincic. Jackie Rush also recently graduated from the Bob Cole Conservatory of music at California State University Long Beach as a KKJZ Scholar with a Bachelor of Music Performance with an emphasis in Jazz Studies. Post graduation, she had the opportunity to be a part of the Everything I Know About Love tour playing drums with jazz/pop singer Laufey in fall of 2022 and most recently played drums on the Fish Bird Baby Boy tour with New Zealand based singer GeorgiaGetsBy. She is currently based in the LA area playing professionally, recording, coaching at various schools, as well as teaching privately
