Women's Hike - Mt San Jacinto

For this adventure, we will be summiting the 2nd highest peak in Southern California. The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway Hike to Mt San Jacinto is a great way to bag this peak without putting in a considerable effort. It's still a challenging 11-mile hike, but it's nothing like climbing Mt San Jacinto from Palm Springs or Idyllwild; taking the Palm Springs tram cuts about 6,000 feet of climbing off the hike. The summit of Mt San Jacinto is one of our favorites because it straddles the line between Coastal California and the Sonoran Desert, allowing you to see the transition between the two ecosystems, and on a clear day, from Catalina Island to Mt Charleston, just outside of Las Vegas. It's a fun and insanely beautiful hike.

AGAIN, this trail is an 11 mile "out and back" with roughly 2,578 feet of elevation gain. It is rated HARD. We recommend only experienced peak hikers or hikers who have trained for high peaks attempt this trail. We will be taking this hike slow with frequent breaks but if you are not ready or prepared to attempt this hike, we will ask you to turn around.

There are no reliable water sources on this trail as we will be ascending away from the valley, so please plan on carrying your entire days supply of water with you.

1. Pack atleast 3L of water.
2. Pack snacks & a lunch.
3. It may still be warm this time of year. Please dress accordingly.
4. Bring warm clothing (jacket in case it gets chilly at the top).
5. Shoes with good traction

7. Spikes (there may be snow on the ground)
8. A backpack to carry all your essentials
9. Sunscreen, sun hat, sunglasses
