Legendary storyteller AuntMama and teaching artist Avery Hill team up for a memorable evening of stories and songs to celebrate International Women's Day.
They will reflect on the women they've known and loved, as well as those they have admired from afar.Named "Living Legacy" by the City of Seattle Arts and Culture Center, Mary Anne Moorman (aka AuntMama) has made storytelling her life's work. Raised on the storytelling traditions of her family in Appalachia, AuntMama's words have made their way into her work in journalism, poetry, advocacy, consulting, and countless good, old-fashioned, well-told yarns on the stage. Her latest album, The One Who Remembers (2024), explores the everyday moments and objects that open a portal through time, linking the past, present and future.
