A relaxed afternoon designed for women’s emotional health, a chance to step away from the usual routine, slow down, and reconnect with yourself. Whether you’re feeling burnt out, overwhelmed, or simply need a moment to unwind, come settle into nature and spend a few hours reading, talking, writing, eating, and being outdoors. 📖🌿
You might come because you love books.
You might come because you’ve been feeling a little overwhelmed and want a few quiet hours to yourself.
You might come because you want to meet new people.
Whatever brings you, we’d love to have you there. 🌿
Here's the plan:
📚 Read without distractions: bring the book you’ve been meaning to finish and actually give yourself the time to read it.
🦉 Learn about local wildlife: Toronto Wildlife Centre will share an overview of the important work they do to rescue, rehabilitate, and protect wildlife in our community. We will also explore how we can better understand and coexist with the wildlife that shares our communities.
🍓 Enjoy lunch & refreshments: because good conversations are better with good food.
✍️ Write something of your own: Valerie Murzina, author of The Light Within, will lead a poetry workshop focused on emotions, reflection, and looking inward.
🌳 Spend time outside: surrounded by nature, away from the noise of everyday life.
And there’s a little something to take home too. ❤️
Every guest receives a copy of The Light Within.

📖 Your current book
✍️ A journal/notebook for the poetry workshop
💧 A reusable water bottle
🌤️ Comfortable clothes suitable for the weather
Food and refreshments are provided.
Please note: Tickets are non-refundable because spaces are limited. The event will be photographed.
A note about the weather: This is an outdoor event. If it rains, the social will be postponed, and we’ll keep everyone updated. You’ll have the option to reschedule your ticket for the new date or cancel your ticket.
