Loulita Gill Bio:

Back in 2017 I felt ‘I have to do something with this.’

Despite being a wife and mother with a fulfilling life and years of experience leading worship in church, I sensed a significant void in my life. Singing, writing, recording, and releasing my own songs had always been a dream of mine. But you know how it is, as life goes on it can look like things will never happen and so we can tend to give up on our dreams.

Then, one night, I decided to email the owner of a production company, asking if I could perform a couple of my songs for him. A week later, I found myself in the studio. Long story short, in 2018, just six months later, I released my debut album, 'The Last Twelve Years.' The album received wonderful reviews, and it paved the way for me to release seven additional singles under the banner of Homegrown Worship in 2019 and 2020.

My music started getting featured on several Christian radio stations in the UK and worldwide. I also had the privilege of touring in Johannesburg and Uganda, sharing my songs and messages of hope.

The pandemic disrupted my live events, so I shifted my focus to building an online following. I also worked on my new project, a worship album, and in late 2020, I released 'Poured Out,' an expression of my gratitude to God for His unwavering love in my life. The album's first track, 'If Not For God,' reached #1 on the UK Christian Charts. Another track, 'Grace and Mercy,' has amassed over 1M streams on Spotify.

Encouraged by the positive feedback on the album, I continued to write new songs. In January 2022, I released 'Heaven is Holding You,' a song born from the pain of a miscarriage I experienced in 2015, shortly after earning my Masters in Practical Theology. The song has become a source of comfort for many who have lost loved ones and also reached #1 in the UK Christian Charts.

Throughout 2022, I recorded and released acoustic covers of my original songs and well-known CCM and worship tracks. Additionally, I released 'Will You?'—a song emphasising the importance of listening in relationships and how it can make people feel loved.

From the outset of my music journey, I engaged in therapy to process complex childhood and young adult trauma. As I began to comprehend my life and how all the pieces fit together, I turned to music as an outlet for my pain, culminating in my latest EP, 'Turn the Page.' These songs delve deeply into my healing journey. They are raw but also a potent reminder that you can move forward in life, no matter how challenging it may seem.

Currently, I'm working on my next EP, 'Page 2,' which I aim to release by the end of 2024. I've also started writing songs specifically for sync placements.

Looking back at the past few years, I'm grateful that I didn't ignore that 'now or never' moment. I consistently receive messages complimenting my songwriting skills and vocal abilities, but what impacts me the most is when someone tells me that one of my songs has transformed their life and given them hope for the future. Music gave me a voice when I had been silenced for so long, and now, I hope my music will continue to do the same for others.
