WOMEN OF THE SKY: A TALK ON AVIATION, ART, AND POSSIBILITY
About this Event
What does it feel like to see the world from above — and what does it take to get there?
Join us at Peak Design LA for an evening with Luna, photographer and pilot, alongside members of the San Fernando Valley Chapter of The Ninety-Nines, an international organization of women pilots founded in 1929 by 99 trailblazers — including Amelia Earhart herself.
Luna's work lives at the intersection of movement, storytelling, and perspective. Raised in a Mexican immigrant community and driven by a belief that the world should feel more accessible to everyone, she uses both photography and flight to challenge what feels reachable. As part of the small percentage of women pilots in the U.S., her presence in the skies is as much a statement as it is a passion.
The Ninety-Nines have been building that same kind of access for nearly a century — through scholarships, mentorship, and community that opens doors in an industry where women are still significantly underrepresented.
This is a night for anyone who's ever felt like a certain path wasn't made for them — and needed proof that it could be.
Come curious. Leave inspired.
