Women @ Lowie live presents songwriters in the round hosted by Cate Taylor. Featuring four of Melbourne's finest, Cate Taylor, Sarah Caroll, Teresa Duffy-Richards and Moze.Cate Taylor is an award-winning, indie-folk/alt-country singer-songwriter from Melbourne. She has played festivals and venues across regional Australia and inner Melbourne. She performs with voice, guitar and mandolin and includes story-telling, ballads and upbeat songs. Her songs are delicately crafted and reflect social, personal and environmental themes.
Sarah Caroll is an accomplished singer/songwriter, affectionately dubbed the Ukulele Queen of the Bellarine. Sarah has performed at most of Australia's high-profile festivals and a good many of its pubs over a 30 year career, and is noted for her work with GIT, The Pirates Of Beer, Soft Gold, The Left Wing, The Junes and The Cartridge Family. Her songs chime with sincerity and deal largely with her experiences as a teacher, mother, wife, political animal and touring musician.
Teresa Duffy-Richards makes music steeped in the vast traditions of Roots music, Folk, Country and Blues, and the more modern realms of RocknRoll, Punk and Noise Rock. Performing solo, in an acoustic duet and with a band, she delivers music that is by turns haunting and raucous, evocative and idiosyncratic. With a voice described as achingly beautiful, she draws comparisons to Sandy Denny, Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton while remaining all her own. Her poetic and lyrical song writing combined with her exceptional voice and musicianship has entranced audiences and seen her open for such acts as Tex Perkins and Matt Walker.
MOZË is an English-born, Australian self-produced artist who began exploring her sound during the 2020 lockdowns. Inspired by Lianne La Havis, James Blake, and Kimbra, she writes and produces music in her home studio in Wangaratta. MOZË has opened for Odette, Woodes, Yergurl, Kat Edwards, IVEY, Kaitlin Keegan, performed at the Palais Theatre, and toured with Kylie Auldist.
