About this Event
Women in Sports | Exhibit Opening and Panel Discussion
Georgia State University Library invites you to the opening of “Not Just One of the Boys: How Women Pushed Beyond Inclusion in Professional Sports,” an exhibit exploring the history of women’s push for equity in amateur and professional athletics.
We are hosting what promises to be a stimulating conversation about the evolution of women's sports, from the early days of the Atlanta Softball League to the current state of professional women's sports. Our amazing speakers include:
- Pici (frances pici), one of the members of the 1970s ALFA Omegas softball team and an Atlanta Softball League umpire
- Pamela Anderson, a Title IX baby who went on to be an athlete, coach, referee, educator and researcher
- Beth Schapiro, who also umpired for the Atlanta Softball League, and is a longtime supporter and historian of The Atlanta Dream basketball team.
Please join us for the exciting event which is free and open to the public. Feel free to share and bring your friends.
