Come along and join us at our next event on 15 March 2023 at 11am in the wonderful Sky Lounge, Double Tree Hotel, Leeds.


The theme is "Inspiring and Aspiring - Be Your Best YOU!!" and we will be discussing the importance of fair representation to women and young girls!

As we know, you can't BE what you can't SEE!


Our Guest Speakers come from various backgrounds and professions, and they will share their inspiring stories of how they overcame obstacles and achieved success in their fields.


We believe in the power of community, and we truly believe this event will empower, encourage, and inspire you to achieve your biggest dreams. This is an event you don’t want to miss!

Proceeds from the event will be going to Maggie's Cancer Centre, a local charity operating out of the grounds of St James Hospital, Leeds - this amazing charity supports cancer sufferers and their families!

OUR SPEAKERS!


FACILITATOR - Sarah O'Neil, Business Analyst, Hiscox Insurance & Lead Ambassador for Getaway Girls

Sarah is as a passionate Business Analyst- a dynamic role in the tech industry that supports digital and organisational change, process efficiency and creative innovation- working closely with the healthcare industry for the last 7 years.

Also Lead Ambassador for Getaway Girls, Sarah is applying business analysis to identify opportunities and solutions to enhance growth and stability of the organisation and has designed a ‘Grow a Grassroots’ project to manage the exciting initiative.

Above all, Sarah is a willing and active cheerleader of other women and someone who believes everyone can ‘be their best self’ (after personally turning her life and career around in her 30s), with the right opportunities and support network. Sarah now focuses on how to help others with personal development and find confidence needed to take a leap of faith in their own career paths alongside her own development.


Alia Nessa, Operations Manager at Getaway Girls charity


Alia has been a valued member of the Getaway Girls community since 1987, participating in activities as a young woman and now as a core member of the management team.

Alia’s role as Operations Manager ensures Getaway Girls as an organisation, can thrive around people, strategy, process and systems.

Alia has two daughters, both either working in healthcare or with aspirations in the medical field and have been valued members and young leaders within the Getaway Girls community too, making a real impact with campaigns.

Alia has succeeded at university (and is not done yet), currently studying a postgraduate diploma in counselling and psychotherapy. Alia has travelled the world challenging herself, exploring opportunities- and enjoying what the world has to offer around her hard work. Alia is an inspiring role model and passionate about making a difference for girls and young women.


Manisha Prabhakar, Director of Sales at Synap, Member of Trustee Board at Getaway Girls


Manisha moved from career in teaching science - after completing multiple clinical science based degrees at Bradford and Leeds universities, to the unfamiliar world of technology, demonstrating inspiring courage.

Since taking the new challenge in 2017, Manisha is thriving and has been instrumental in driving the growth of Synap, a tech startup based in Leeds, securing new business opportunities and building trusting relationships.

Manisha is enthusiastic about experimenting with various approaches to achieve personal growth and overcome challenges, whilst maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Manisha is a passionate and committed member of the Getaway Girls community, having accessed the charity at a younger age and now using her experiences and dedication in her role as a Trustee.



Kadesh Anderson, Communications Assistant, NHS Leeds and York Partnership Foundation Trust


Kadesh’s work in communications at the NHS sees her working on a range of projects relating to learning disabilities, autism and awareness campaigns for the Trust.

Kadesh navigated motherhood alongside succeeding in her journalism degree at the age of 19 and believes in never giving up on your dreams, goals and aspirations no matter what challenges present themselves in life.

Kadesh emphasises that she is first and foremost a mother, but also a passionate writer, colleague and activist for ethnic minority groups. Kadesh is thriving in an industry that now aligns with her journalism skills and committing to being her ‘best self’, after 10 years of feeling unfulfilled (but dedicated) in the customer service industry, with some of Kadesh’s articles being featured publicly, including in The Voice newspaper.
