The theme is "Reflections” – The Impact of Media on Our Self Image

Our Guest Speakers come from various backgrounds and professions, and they will share their inspiring stories of how they have overcome, challenged and celebrated the impact of media.

We believe in the power of community, and we truly believe this event will empower, encourage, and inspire you to achieve your biggest dreams. This is an event you don’t want to miss!

Proceeds from the event will be going to Maggie's Cancer Centre, a local charity operating out of the grounds of St James Hospital, Leeds - this amazing charity supports cancer sufferers and their families!

Facilitator - Thelma Khupe, Founder & Creative Director, ‘Home is where Da Art Is’

Thelma is a multifaceted creative with a strong knowledge of the UK and Sub Saharan creative and urban music scenes, and the competitive landscape in which they operate. With a proven track record and a strong history of curating and coordinating music and culture content, Thelma has produced creative work for a range of renowned UK and international artists and labels.

“Everyone has a story, not everyone knows how to tell it. I’m a storyteller. I help artists bring their stories to life. I’m an innovator. I look for what hasn’t been done and I will be the first to do it. Fearlessness drives my creativity.”


Guest Speaker - Emily Fullerton, Executive Director at Wellspring Therapy & Training


Emily is an Accredited Counsellor & Psychotherapist with the BACP. She has specialised in working with women survivors of sexual violence through working with Rape Crisis Centres in West Yorkshire. For the past 8 years Emily has had the privilege of leading an ambitious mental health charity, Wellspring Therapy & Training, based in Harrogate. Wellspring offers affordable counselling to children and adults offering over 170 sessions per week.

The charity is celebrating their 20th anniversary this year and planning to build upon their experience by expanding and opening satellite centres in York, Leeds and Bradford, in partnership with local Churches. Emily is passionate about professional, specialised mental health support being equally accessible to anyone, regardless of their economic, cultural or social background. Emily is also a mum and a wife who enjoys cooking, running and being outdoors whenever possible.


Guest Speaker - Yvonne Mather, Co-founder & Chief Marketing Officer - Shopestapp

Yvonne Mather is a Co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer with extensive experience in the fashion/retail tech industry, investing and supporting budding new business owners.

As the former National Manager for Accessories Concessions within the Arcadia Group, overseeing Topshop and Miss Selfridge, Yvonne has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise in the field of marketing communications.


Having recently returned from living in the Middle East, Yvonne brings a unique perspective on social media, its impact on self-image and navigating online presence, with a deep understanding of the contrasting cultural attitudes between the region and the UK. This experience has broadened her awareness of diverse markets and consumer behaviours.



Passionate about empowering young entrepreneurs, Yvonne actively mentors and supports them in their business endeavours. She assists in refining their business ideas and guides them on personal growth in an environment that often presents challenges for female founders, particularly women of colour.



Guest Speaker - Matchu Mateus, Freelance Make Up Artist

Matchu studied Fashion Marketing and Production at the University of Huddersfield which has played a pivotal role in her business today.

Matchu has worked with influencers and A-listers such as, Ashanti, Jordyn Woods and Mel B.
