A free event to celebrate, inspire and support female business leaders and entrepreneurs in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly
About this Event

Do you run your own business or thinking of starting a business? Following International Women’s Day, this free event on 23 March 2023 aims to inspire, celebrate and support female business leaders and entrepreneurs across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly by sharing practical advice, knowledge and real-life experiences.

This event will feature an inspiring line-up of female entrepreneurs talking about their own business journeys alongside finance experts discussing the range of finance options available to grow or start your business.

According to the government-backed Rose Review, boosting female entrepreneurship could add £250bn to the UK economy. The Review identified the main barriers that women face when starting and scaling a business, which include accessing funding. We’ll discuss these challenges, explore the local and national support available and how to access it.

What is covered in the event?

Keynote speaker: Jo Fairley, Green & Black's Chocolate

Jo Fairley is one of the UK's leading female entrepreneurs. After becoming the UK’s youngest-ever magazine editor, at the age of 23, she set out on her entrepreneurial journey in 1991 when (in the middle of a recession), she co-founded the pioneering Green & Black’s Chocolate – now a £100 million a year brand. Having started a business in a recession, Jo is well-placed to help and inspire other companies during difficult times.
