We will begin our group hikes on Monday, September 14th. Our last group hike will be held on Thursday, September 17th.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13TH IS BUILT INTO THIS EVENT TO ALLOW FOR TRAVEL. THE "OFFICIAL" HIKES WILL NOT START UNTIL MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14TH. WE WILL LIKELY HOLD AN UNOFFICIAL HIKE ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13TH FOR ANYONE WHO HAPPENS TO ALREADY BE IN ESTES PARK. (More info regarding this will be provided as the date approaches.)

In consideration of the risk of injury while participating in this Women Hiking KS And Beyond hike to the Estes Park/Rocky Mountain National Park area (September 13-18, 2026), I hereby knowingly and voluntarily hereby waive any and all rights, claims or causes of action of any kind whatsoever arising out of my participation in this “Activity”. I also hereby release and forever discharge Cynthia Coughenour and Jeri Brungardt of any liability of any injury that I may suffer as a direct result of my participation. I am voluntarily participating in the aforementioned activity, and I am participating in the activity entirely at my own risk. I am aware of the risks associated with traveling to and from as well as participating in this hiking activity. All hikers should evaluate their own risk involved in hiking, be aware of your physical limitations and preview the trails prior to hike day.

EACH PERSON GOING ON THIS HIKING EVENT MUST BE REGISTERED TO ATTEND. IF SOMEONE ELSE NEEDS TO PERFORM YOUR REGISTRATION THEY MAY DO SO, BUT EACH PERSON'S NAME MUST BE INPUT AS THE REGISTRANT/HIKER ATTENDING.

Females 12 and older may register for this event. If you are < 18 yrs old you must have an adult parent/legal guardian with you.

ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED YOUR REGISTRATION INFORMATION AND PAID, THIS ALSO IS CONSIDERED AS SIGNING YOUR WAIVER. BY READING THIS ENTIRE SECTION OF INFORMATION YOU ARE MADE AWARE OF WAIVER DETAILS.

WHKSAB hikes are not set up as guided hikes. We will provide basic info on trails. Everyone will hike on their own (within their own group) and at their own pace. We recommend you ALWAYS hike with at least one other person. Make sure if you attend by yourself at least one other person in your hiking group knows who you are. Please have emergency contact info and necessary medical info noted on a card in your backpack. It is a good idea to let someone in your hiking group know the location of your emergency contact info/medical info.

We suggest that each hiker utilizes the AllTrails app during the hike and previews the trails prior to hike day. You will need to download info from AllTrails before going into the hike due to possible low and/or zero Wi-Fi capability. A paid version of AllTrails is needed for this download and access to it since there will most likely be no Wi-Fi signal in the hike areas. At least one person in each hiking group should have a paid version of AllTrails. Specific hiking trails will be discussed at a later date.

Please download these trails in your AllTrails app after you are notified which trails we will be hiking. We will share the proposed itinerary approximately one-two weeks prior to the event.

An in-person informational meeting will be held to go over trip details and to answer questions. It will be held on February 7th. This event has already been posted on Facebook. Please refer to this event for meeting details and to register your attendance to the meeting.

Hikers make their own lodging accommodations. Please start your research work now regarding accommodations. We encourage everyone to stay at YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park. You are welcome to stay anywhere you would like to though. All meetings will be held at the YMCA. All pre-hike meet-ups will be at the YMCA. There are specific dates you can begin making reservations at the YMCA. We will discuss this at the February 7th meeting, or you may research the YMCA of the Rockies website for further information.
