This cocktail party fundraiser for women includes heavy hors d’oeuvres and drinks while touring Erie’s newest museum.Committee members include Lauren Bauer, Emily Fessler, Erin Fessler, Susan Kanonczyk, Barb Lechner, Abby Lechner, Leah Murphy, Lisa NeCastro, and Dana Zaphiris.
The History Center is featuring an exhibit on the works of Eugene Iverd, a local painter and Erie school teacher, who featured Erie children in his work for the Saturday Evening Post, McCall’s, Ladies Home Journal, and the American Magazine.
He also painted several paintings for Dorrance Co. (owners of Campbell’s Soup), the Rotarian, Monarch Foods, The Buffalo Evening News, and others.
With an exhibit of his works, students on field trips to the History Center can come to appreciate Iverd’s artistry, realize his place in history, and perhaps consider becoming an artist as a career choice.
A portion of proceeds from this year’s event will be used to help fund the restoration of the 29 paintings in our collection.
Invitations will be mailed in May. If you’d like to receive an invitation or have any questions, please contact us at 814-454-1813 x 34 or [email protected].
Women under the age of 40 will pay their age. For example, if you are 30 years old, your price will be $30.For all other women, tickets are $100/each.
