Women Building Up presents: Celebration Week: MOVING IN SOLIDARITY

In advance of Its 2025 launch Women Building Up will open the doors of its 19000 Sq. Ft. building to the community in Downtown Brooklyn! Respected activists organizers artists community leaders lawyers and scholars will gather in solidarity to support justice-impacted women girls and gender-expansive people.

Women Building Up (WBU) is a nonprofit organization that advances gender racial and social justice by supporting women girls and gender-expansive people especially those impacted by incarceration.

In advance of its 2025 launch WBU invites the community to Celebration Week. The two-day series of events is a unique time for activists and organizers across multiple social justice communities to gather in solidarity and continue building a dignified and just world.

The Moving In Solidarity gathering will bring together activists working on various intersecting issues ranging from criminal justice to gender equity. This FREE event will enable participants to better understand the issues and how they are critical for ending oppression and inequity in various communities across New York City and beyond. As the country nears another presidential election and the reality of a nation divided leaders and community members will discuss social justice movements where and how they intersect and where we can go from here. The gathering will be organized around two panels and three breakout groups.

PLUS! WBU will also host a dance party with a DJ from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm!
