We are bringing back our monthly Women and Non Binary folk Artist Hui! This hui was created out of the need to build a safe space for women and non-binary folx to nurture their creativity, foster connections with like-minded individuals, collaborate and learn something new! For this month's Women and Non-binary artist hui we have Rosabel Tan @incorrect_pin from Satellites @aksatellites hosting a workshop called Love Letters. ?In A Short History of Asian New Zealand Theatre, each performer is invited to reflect on a time when they have wanted to quit theatre: why they didn't, why they endured. On opening night, playwright Nathan Joe @yellowperilproductions boiled it down to one thing: the people.
As creative practitioners, we owe so much to the people around us. They are who inspire us, who support us, who keep cheering us on. And yet the grind of freelance culture often means we don't always have the space and time to truly acknowledge and thank those who we owe so much of ourselves to.
Join us for a gentle evening where you'll be invited to write a letter of appreciation
for somebody who has shaped you as a creative. Materials and snacks provided!
