June is Pride Month, and WMSE is celebrating with a very special Friday Night Freak Show on June 19th featuring the groundbreaking documentary Paris Is Burning!
Directed by Jennie Livingston, this iconic 1990 film takes you deep into New York City’s legendary ballroom culture of the 1980s — spotlighting the African-American, Latino, gay, and transgender communities that helped shape it.
The night kicks off at 6:30 PM with a live DJ set from Tony Myers of Chillosophy, and we will be joined by our friends from Courage Plus. Then the film hits the screen at 7:30.
Come celebrate Pride with music, community, and one of the most influential documentaries ever made.
Get tickets and more information at MKEFilm.org
Presented by MKE Film and 3 Sheeps Brewing.
