Our next chanting session is on Sunday 10th May, 10:30-12:00, at the Miners' Institute in Langley Park. This falls in Donkey Week (5th-12th May). If you have any donkey facts or donkey tales to tell, please come and share! There's a song from Quebec (the Canadian one) known as Donkey Riding and I've only just discovered the real words to it, not the ones I've been singing for decades and it isn't actually about riding on the kind of donkeys you see at the seaside. Live and learn, hey! All are welcome to join our lovely, friendly group of women.Witton Women chanting group meets on the first or second Sunday of each month. We share chants and mantra from a variety of different cultural traditions. No musical experience is needed and no expertise in singing. There are no complicated tunes or words to learn, no 'good' or 'bad' voices, no pressure to perform. It's joyful, uplifting and heart-warming.
Starts at 10:30, finish at 12:00. You may like to bring water to drink, also percussion instruments such as a frame drum, rattle or shakers to add rhythm to our chants. Tea and biscuits are provided at the end of the session but please bring your own mug.
Pay on the door: £10, or pay as you can afford.
