Drawing on the themes of migration, domesticity, and fertility that permeate Mattai’s visual work, the concert presents a sonic landscape that is equally expansive and boundary-defying.Through an innovative program featuring works by Reena Esmail, Philip Freihofner, and Anish Pandit, the performance highlights the depth and diversity of South Asian contributions to classical music—reimagining tradition through a contemporary lens. The evening includes rare pairings such as oboe and electronic gamelan, creating a hypnotic fusion of timbre and rhythm that blurs the line between acoustic and digital, past and present.
