About this Event
Join Wisdom Ways, in partnership with the Islamic Resource Group and Nasrieen Habib, for a community Iftar on March 7 at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (2501 Stevens Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55404) from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.
Iftar is the evening meal that marks the breaking of the daily fast during the Islamic month of Ramadan. It is traditionally shared in community, bringing together Muslims and non Muslims alike as a way to strengthen bonds, foster understanding, and build unity within the places we call home. Now more than ever, this gathering feels especially meaningful.
Minnesotans have long demonstrated a deep commitment to caring for one another. That spirit of solidarity has only grown stronger through recent collective efforts to support and protect our neighbors during challenging times. Join us as we continue to strengthen our connections, both with those we know and with those we are meeting for the first time.
The meal will begin with the traditional breaking of the fast with dates and water and will highlight the deep connection between our Minnesota community and the planet we share. Featuring Nasrieen Habib, founder of EcoJariyah and Amanah Recreational Project, the evening will explore not only what it means to practice Islam, but also how Islamic teachings honor and protect the natural world. Come and share an eco-friendly meal with us on March 7!
People of all faiths are invited to attend and celebrate this important time in the Islamic calendar. Muslim attendees are invited to join at no cost. A halal meal will be available to all participants.
Learn why we offer multiple price points for program participation here.
Please note that the “Muslim Attendee” selection ensures that our Muslim neighbors can attend for free. All other, non-Muslim participants should select either the $20 or $35 option to ensure the smooth running and execution of this event.
