The Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project presents Beacons of the Bay: Opening Night Tribute at the historic Tarlton Theatre.

They ignited the torches. They carved a path. They led us all forward against all the odds stacked against them. On Saturday, January 31, 2026, we celebrate their stories. Meet eight living LGBTQ elders, our Beacons of the Bay, who have made Northeastern Wisconsin a better place to live, work, play, and love.

The opening night tribute will include a gallery exhibit, guest speakers, documentary presentation, and a live panel discussion with the Beacons.

This project was made possible by a generous grant from The Canary Fund.

🎟️ A suggested donation of $10 per person is appreciated. Your donation will support the Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project in their ongoing research, documentation, and celebration of local LGBTQ history and heritage. 🎟️

🎟️ Please reserve a table for your party. Tables for parties of 2-5 available. Seating arrangements are on a first-come, first-served basis based on the order your reservation is placed. Please purchase a table based on the number of guests in your party. Tables or individual tickets are not guaranteed proximity to other parties unless purchased together under the same party name or same order. Table reservations which are not claimed by showtime will be cancelled and offered to other guests as necessary. 🎟️

The Tarlton Theatre offers complimentary parking at the paved lot located immediately to the west of the theatre at 100 South Chestnut Avenue. Parking spaces marked "The Tarlton Theatre" are reserved for theatre guests only. Free parking is also available on South Broadway, South Chestnut Avenue, and Howard Street, but we caution our guests against parking their vehicles overnight.
