Wire Fraud Awareness

• Understand the prevalence of wire fraud in real estate settlements, and that it is highly likely that the real estate agent will witness fraud or attempted fraud.
• Understand that home buyers are a key target of fraud, and how to protect clients who are buyers.
• Understand that sellers are commonly impersonated by fraudsters, and how to help prevent such fraud prior to the closing.
• Understand how real estate agents can be targeted to help propagate fraud.
• Be able to undertake practical risk mitigation steps to reduce fraud.
• Understand the implications of fraud on the individual real estate agent, and motivate the agent to take appropriate action.
