Wire Bending

Join us for “Wire Bending: An Intuitive Jewelry Workshop” to explore the craft of transforming wire into stunning, wearable art. Under the guidance of Livia (she/her/hers) of Lio’s Adornments, participants will delve into the techniques and poetry of wire jewelry. This hands-on workshop welcomes both beginners and seasoned enthusiasts to play, discover, and connect. Embark on a creative journey, where every twist and turn unveils a part of you.
Class 1: Introduction to Wire-Bending and Essential Tools
You will embark on an exciting journey into the world of wire jewelry. Under the guidance of Livia, you'll be introduced to the fundamental techniques of wire-bending and the essential tools and materials required for this craft through hands-on play.
- Open to all levels and HIGHLY ENCOURAGED before taking further classes in this series.
Class 2: Three-Dimensionality through Sculpture
In the second class of our workshop series, delve deeper into the world of wire-bending, focusing on three-dimensional form and shape. Explore techniques for creating patterns and get the opportunity to craft a small wire sculpture.
- Open to all levels and HIGHLY ENCOURAGED before taking further classes in this series.
Class 3: Jewelry Techniques from front to finish
Learn fundamental jewelry techniques, how to incorporate beads/stones, and have the opportunity to craft jewelry components from scratch. We will apply our newly learned techniques to craft a one-of-a-kind pair of earrings to take home or gift.
- Should have taken a prior class (1 or 2) OR prior experience
Class 4: Review, Creative Expression, and Self-Directed Project
In the final installment of our workshop series, you'll review what you've learned and express your creativity through a self-directed project. Feel free to bring their own stones, beads, and/or old jewelry to incorporate into your pieces.
- Should have taken any two prior classes (1, 2, or 3, OR prior experience)
Class Materials: $20 for entire series, $8 for single class
