Die Winterwerft ist das Festival für wildes, organisches Theater. Für Theater am Ende der Welt, wie wir sie kennen. Für Theater, das wagt, unerschrocken, neugierig und fragend in die Abgründe dieser
Zeit zu blicken.
Vom 27.01.-12.02. öffnen wir Türe und Tore und laden Euch dazu ein, mit uns am Feuer zu sitzen: jeweils von Freitag bis Sonntag erwartet Euch auf dem Kulturgelände ein gut gefülltes Programm:

- Workshops
- Performances
- Gesprächen
- Lesungen
- Verpflegungen
Kommt vorbei, lasst uns die dunkle Winterzeit nutzen um gemeinsam zu tanzen, zu lauschen, berührt zu werden und die Fragen zu bewegen, die sich uns jetzt stellen.
Auf dem Winterwerft Gelände finden wir dafür einen magischen Rahmen. Die mongolische Jurte, das Babushka Café und das Foyer laden mit Konzertklängen, Gesprächsformaten warmen Getränken und Leckereien zum Verweilen und Austausch ein. In der Halle ziehen faszinierende Theaterstücke in ihren Bann, und wenn wir es brauchen, ist dort auch Platz zum Tanzen.
Worum geht es?
Krieg, Dürre, Viren. In den vergangenen Jahren haben wir erlebt, wie eine Krise nach der anderen unsere sicher geglaubten Strukturen, seien diese politischer, wirtschaftlicher oder biologischer Natur,
aufs Tiefste erschüttert hat. Nicht nur die Ränder Europas brennen, sondern auch die Felder und Wälder vor unseren Haustüren. Die Klimakatastrophe ist hier, Wirtschaftskriege schwellen an,
politische Systeme erodieren – die Hütte brennt.
Was kann und soll Theater in einer solchen Zeit leisten? Wie kann die Klimakatastrophe, mit all ihren Fluten, Stürmen und Dürren, ihren Vertriebenen, Geflüchteten, Ausgestorbenen, auf die Bühne
gebracht werden? Welche Lieder und Tänze, Sprachen und Gesänge brauchen wir, die aus den Herzen, aus den Theatern, aus den Fenstern auf die Straßen und Plätze, in die Plenarsäle,
geschleudert, gesungen, getragen werden?
Zum einen: Laden wir Künstler*Innen und Gruppen dazu ein, hier in Frankfurt auf dem kulturgelände protagon miteinander zu leben, zu proben, zu trainieren und zu forschen. Sich den oben genannten
Fragen zu stellen, Blicke in den Abgrund zu wagen, im Unterholz auf Pirsch zu gehen, das Ohr dick und direkt auf den Bauch unserer rumpelnden Erde zu legen.

Winterwerft is the festival for wild, organic theatre. For theatre at the end of the world as we know it. For theatre that dares to look fearlessly, curiously and questioningly into the abysses of this time.
From 27.01.-12.02. we open our doors and gates and invite you to sit by the fire with us: from Friday to Sunday, a well-filled programme awaits you on the cultural grounds:

Come by, let's use the dark winter time to dance together, to listen, to be touched and to move the questions we are asking ourselves now.
At Winterwerft we will find a magical setting for this. The Mongolian yurt, the Babushka Café and the foyer invite you to linger and exchange with concert sounds, conversation formats, warm drinks and treats. In the hall, fascinating theatre pieces cast their spell and there is also room to dance.
What is it about?
War, drought, viruses. In the past few years, we have seen one crisis after another shake to the core our structures that we thought were safe, be they political, economic or biological. Not only the
edges of Europe are burning, but also the fields and forests on our doorsteps. The climate catastrophe is here, economic wars are swelling, political systems are eroding - the hut is on fire.
What can and should theatre do in such a time? How can the climate catastrophe, with all its floods, storms and droughts, its displaced people, refugees, extinct people, be brought to the stage? What songs and dances, languages and chants do we need that are hurled, sung, carried out of hearts, out of the theatres, out of the windows onto the streets and squares, into the plenary halls?
Firstly: We invite artists and groups to live, rehearse, train and research together here in Frankfurt on the kulturgelände protagon. To face the questions mentioned above, to dare to look into the abyss, to go stalking in the undergrowth, to put our ear thickly and directly to the belly of our rumbling earth.
