WHAT IS WINTER WELLNESS?
As winter approaches, our bodies crave comfort foods and may become less active, leading to stress or anxiety. The colder months are also associated with an increase in illnesses. Get prepared by joining Sherwood Queenstown Winter Wellness expert-led workshops to prepare and reset before winter and embrace a healthier, happier season ahead.
PAIN EXPLAINED
Most of what we have grown up to believe about pain has turned out to not be as true as previously thought. For instance, the thought that cold weather makes joints more sore, or that the length of time we experience pain isn't an important factor in deciding how to treat it.
This session will provide you with the opportunity to learn all the different types of pain from low back pain to post-surgical, post-traumatic, neck pain, headaches and ‘unexplained pains’, including fibromyalgia.
There are several different types of pain and many factors that can hinder recovery. Once we have explained the presence of pain, it is easier to understand it and figure out what to do about it. We will also teach you some exercises that can be used to help manage pain.
Fiona and Nick will run an interactive presentation where questions or comments are welcome at any time followed by some time at the end to discuss more in-depth any points of interest.
