At the bleakest time of the year, experience how our ancestors kept warm and lit their homes. Settle down by the blazing fire in the Longhall with a glass of hot apple juice. Venture into the Roman villa to see and feel the Roman hypocaust in action. Learn all about how people in the past made fire by friction or produced sparks by hitting rocks together.
