About this Event
Welcome to Winter Tree Identification and Forest Bathing!
Know your elders from your alders? Your chestnut from your cherry? Whether you have a thirst for knowledge or simply want to feel more connected to nature, come join us on Sun Jan 12, 2025 at Rushcliffe Country Park for a relaxing and informative experience. Learn how to identify different tree species in the winter season and immerse yourself in the mindful practice of forest bathing.
This event is perfect for both nature enthusiasts and anyone simply looking to unwind and connect with the great outdoors, regardless of your age or prior level of knowledge or experience. Our expert guide will lead you through the park, supporting you in unlocking the mysteries of identifing trees once their leaves have shed and their fruits and flowers dropped, all the while appreciating the distinct beauty of nature of winter. We will finish with an immersive guided forest bathing experience to truly ground you into nature, and a cup of freshly foraged winter tea.
Your guide for this event is a qualified Forest Therapy Practitioner, with additional specific training in tree identification.
This session may be cold, so wrap up warm. We will be moving around, but at a slow, mindful pace, so please bear that in mind. Please also bring a mug to enjoy our foraged tea in. You may also like to bring something to sit on during a our forest bathing practice (a lightweight mat or camping stool is ideal). This is not essential.
If you have any accessibility requirements, or any other further questions, please get in touch at [email protected].
See you there!
