The Garden of the Crescent Moon Coven will be celebrating the Winter Solstice and Yule this year on Saturday the 21st of December, gathering about 5:30pm, with Ritual around 6pm and feasting afterwards and well into the night and early morning hours typically. This is a family friendly event. We will have a fire going all night, but also have activities in doors if the weather is very cold, which it usually is. As is traditional, we will be exchanging magickal gifts. The way this works is for you to spend some time in meditation and contemplation of what you can create, put together, find at a thrift store, find on sale, do or offer for another member of the group, but you don't know who that person might be. Let the Deity, your Guides, the Ancestors, whomever you draw inspiration from speak to you about what your gift should be. In the past people have created Witches Ladders, Woven grass decorations, Witch Bottles, Spell kits, Spell Candles, Spellcrafted food items, Herbal Spell infused bath Salts, Potpourri's, oils, incense, hand crafted supply boxes, hand made Book of Shadows, wands, giving certificates for a skill that you have such a free Tarot reading, free Natal Chart, or Psychic reading, tools that you have crafted, decorations, clothing items, Witches hats or jewelry, Altar items, Altar cloths, old fashioned chalices, bowls, candle holders, or elemental representations items, a really cool crystal, a rare feather, small statuary, instructional books, rattles, chimes, Rune sets, Ogham sets, Oracle cards, etc. The general dollar equivalent should be about $10-20 for this gift if one were to purchase it. Please wrap your gifts and we will be distributing them in a divinatory ritual after the Feast. Please have a gift for each person that comes with you so everyone gets a gift when we exchange.
Also we will be having Turkey for the main meat dish for this event so please bring side dishes that go with a big turkey dinner and are seasonal for this time of the year. Don't forget snacks, drinks and desserts.
This event typical runs late, with a lot of merriment, singing, divinatory activities, and general fun as we stay up until at least Midnight and usually later to welcome the rebirth of the Sun! Dress warmly for Ritual outside, feasting will be indoors.
I hope to see all our old friends and many new faces!!
