Winter Solstice Series - Solstice Nature Hike

Join us this winter solstice for a nature hike in the beautiful Tommy Thompson Park. We will welcome the longest night of the year by exploring the ways wildlife adapt to the winter season and looking for winter animal evidence. As dusk approaches we will turn on our lanterns to brighten the longest night of the year and celebrate the longer days and changing seasons to come. If you attended the lantern creating event on December 14th we encourage you to bring your lantern!

Here's more information you'll need to know:

• Meet your event leader just outside the park pavilion at Tommy Thompson Park, located at 1 Leslie St in Toronto, ON
• Please arrive on time and prepared for an evening spent outdoors
• Wear warm clothing and dress apporpriatley for the weather. If there is snow on the ground we may be walking through it. In this case, water resistant, tall winter boots would be recomended.
• Warm refreshments will be provided. Please bring your own thermos or mug.
• Please bring a waterbottle for the hike
• Any lanterns guests bring should all be battery-opperated or have battery-opperated candles inside. Some lanterns will be provided for the hike.

Cancellation policy: The event will run rain or shine, but will be canceled if there is a greater than 70% chance of thunderstorm or other hazardous weather. Registrants will be emailed by 10:00am on the morning of the event if there is a cancellation.
