The Winter Solstice marks the longest night and the shortest day of the year. In a season that often demands more from us, the Solstice offers a rare moment to pause and honour the stillness before stepping into the fullness of Christmas.This class is more than a gentle restorative practice; it is a purposeful reset. Students will be guided into supportive postures to create space to soften, release, and reconnect with mind and body. Each shape is designed to calm the nervous system, to ease physical tension, and to encourage an internal slowing that many of us rarely allow ourselves. Guided breathwork deepens the experience by helping clear mental clutter that collects during the busiest season of the year. Through intentional breathing, we will create space to reflect, release what no longer serves us, and to prepare our hearts for the light and hope that the Solstice represents. Sound healing adds a transformative layer to the class; a variety of instruments are used to create sound frequencies that help settle the mind, soothe emotional overwhelm, and guide our bodies into a deeper state of rest than stillness alone can offer.
Together, the Solstice, restorative postures, breathwork, and sound healing form a powerful grounding experience. This session becomes a moment of calm before the Christmas rush—a sacred pause where you can refill your own well and walk into the season feeling more present, more centred, and more renewed.
