Winter Solstice Hike & Gathering 2025!

The Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year, is a perfect time to reflect on the past and celebrate the returning light. Bundle up, grab your headlamp, and let's mark the end of 2025 together on the trail!

We will hike a couple of miles on a wooded trail featuring steep inclines/declines and uneven surfaces. Since the Solstice falls on a Sunday, we get to enjoy the daylight! The hike will conclude just as the sun sets, followed by a ceremonial fire starting and a cozy gathering.

• Distance: Approximately 2 miles
• Terrain: Wooded trail, moderate difficulty (steep sections)
• Post-Hike: Ceremonial Fire & Gathering

Cost Regular: $35 / Club Members: $30

Please come prepared for the weather and the hike!

• Clothing: Dress in layers, hat, and gloves.
• Gear: HEADLAMP or FLASHLIGHT (needed post-hike!), personal chair, and lap blanket.
• Shared Feast: Your beverage of choice, plus hors d'oeuvres and snacks to share around the fire.
• Chair and lap blanket for around the fire.

We will provide the table and build a great fire for the gathering!

Your registration fee supports a safe, organized, and informative adventure led by Dirty Girl Adventures, LLC:

• Organization & Guiding: We organize the event and provide a knowledgeable, informed guide service, including a lead guide and a sweep guide.
• Safety & Support: Trail support includes first aid, pacing, safety monitoring, weather condition updates, and local/environmental interpretive information.
• Weather Policy: We monitor conditions closely. We hike in cool, rainy, or snowy weather, but we will cancel for severe weather or dangerous conditions, in which case everyone will receive a full refund.

Refunds are given up to two weeks before the event date when requested via email to [email protected]. After December 7th, 2025, no refunds will be issued.
