❄️ Winter Solstice Celebration ❄️Sunday, December 21st | 2–8 PM | Burning Cedar Sovereign Wellness
Join us for a Winter Solstice Celebration! We honor the longest night through harvesting, cooking, shared food, and fireside storytelling. This event is rooted in seasonal cycles, Indigenous foodways, and community wellness, offering up a welcoming space to slow down, reflect, and gather together in warmth to welcome the winter season.
Throughout the afternoon and evening, we’ll harvest sunchokes from the garden, prepare nourishing foods together, and share a communal meal before settling in around the fire for stories and connection. This is more than just a celebration — it’s a space to honor our connection to the land, mark the turning of the seasons, and gather in gratitude and community.
✨ What to Expect:
🌻 2–3pm — Sunchoke Harvesting Workshop
Join us in the garden to dig up this year’s harvest of sunchokes! Learn how to plant, care for, and harvest this nutritious and delicious sunflower root.
🍲 3–5pm — Sunchoke Cooking Workshop
We head to the kitchen with our harvest to make a cozy Sunchoke Soup, Roasted Root Medley, and crispy Sunchoke Chips!
🍽️ 5–6pm — Community Dinner
Enjoy a relaxed community dinner, sharing wholesome seasonal Indigenous foods and good company around the table.
🔥 6–8pm — Fireside Storytelling
Bring your camp chair and join us around the fire for warm drinks and shared wintertime stories.
