🌱 Why Winter Solstice?
The Winter Solstice has been celebrated for thousands of years by cultures worldwide as a time of rebirth, transformation, and introspection. From ancient stone circles in England to Indigenous bonfires in the Americas, it is a time to let go of the past and welcome new intentions for the year ahead.

- Food to Share 🥗🥖🍲: Celebrate abundance with a potluck-style gathering. Bring a dish that resonates with your heritage or seasonal flavors.
- Flower Offerings 🌸: Flowers will symbolize our gratitude to the Earth and our connection to nature.
- Warm Clothing 🧣🧤: It may be chilly, so bundle up for a cozy outdoor experience.
🕯️ The History of Solstice Celebrations 🕯️
For many, the Winter Solstice is not just a moment in the calendar but a powerful, spiritual experience. In ancient Rome, it was celebrated as Dies Natalis Solis Invicti (the Birthday of the Unconquered Sun), while the Celts and other Indigenous cultures viewed it as a time for rituals and fires to usher back the sun. Today, we continue this legacy, recognizing our need to reconnect with nature’s rhythms and cycles.
Fun Fact: Did you know that Stonehenge was built in alignment with the solstices? People have been gathering for millennia to honor these powerful seasonal shifts.
🌌 How We Celebrate Together 🌌
- Gather & Connect: Arrive and meet others, share stories, and enjoy light refreshments.
- Setting Intentions: We’ll take time as a group to reflect on the year’s blessings and challenges.
- Bonfire Ceremony 🔥: Around the fire, we’ll release what no longer serves us and welcome positive intentions for the new year.
- Potluck Feast 🍲: Let’s share and savor the abundance of community with seasonal foods brought by all.
