Winter Silhouette Bonsai Show

– The Winter Silhouette Bonsai Show, one of the region's premier celebrations of bonsai artistry, will showcase approximately 100 world-class bonsai trees alongside demonstrations by internationally recognized masters on December 6-7, 2025, at 150 Research Campus Drive, Kannapolis, NC 28081. Admission is free.

The two-day event offers enthusiasts and newcomers alike an extraordinary opportunity to experience the ancient art of bonsai in its winter glory, when the elegant silhouettes and structural beauty of deciduous trees are fully revealed. The exhibition space is an amazing 4-story marble-lined dome—a stunning architectural venue perfectly suited for enjoying the art of bonsai.

Event Highlights Include:

  World-Class Exhibition: Nearly 100 meticulously curated bonsai specimens representing decades of artistic cultivation

  Expert Demonstrations: Live presentations by renowned bonsai masters William Valavanis, Tyler Sherrod, and Mark Arpag, who will share advanced techniques and insights. Master potter Eli Aikens will discuss the art of creating bonsai containers

  Vendor Marketplace: Over 40 specialty vendors offering bonsai trees, premium tools, handcrafted pots, soil, and essential supplies for collectors and beginners

"The Winter Silhouette Show celebrates bonsai at a unique moment in the seasonal cycle," said Steven Zeisel, the show's sponsor. This year's show will honor the memory of David Murdock, who generously provided the magnificent venue for the Winter Bonsai Show and passed away earlier this year.
