We are excited to announce the 2024 Iowa Prairie Network Winter Seminar will be held at Ames High School on Saturday, February 24, 2024! Please join us all day, or just stop by to learn about and celebrate prairies in Iowa. Please complete the registration form for each member of your party to help us with event planning. Registration link is at the bottom.The meeting is free and open to the public. We will be fundraising for Drake Prairie Rescue at the Silent Auction. Items to contribute to the silent auction may be brought on the day-of. Your support is greatly appreciated!
The theme this year is "Prairies: Growing and Changing".
7:00am Vendor check in and set up
9am Doors open
9:45 - 11:15 Morning session, 3 Concurrent Morning Workshops
Urban Native Plants 101
Storytelling to Communicate Prairies
Plant Identification - Native and Non-Native Thistles
11:15 - 12:00 Lunch
Box lunches provided by Outdoor Alliance of Story County. A suggested donation of $10 will be accepted during lunch.
12:00 - 5:15pm Afternoon sessions
5 full group plenary talks on topics related to climate change, invasive species, old growth prairies and more.
Breaks built in to bid on silent auction and visit vendor booths.
