The damp walls of the tunnels echoed every step, mirroring the drumming of Elias’ heart. For months, he had waded through the city's filth, mapping a chaotic labyrinth where ancient brickwork collided with jury-rigged tunnels added by those wishing to pass through the city unseen.
The air grew thick, shifting from the stench of waste to the metallic sweetness of strong magics that clung to the back of his throat. Descending one final, crumbling staircase, the oppressive silence of the depths broken only by the distant, muffled roar of the city's heart beating far above.
A massive iron door came into view, sealed with rusted locks and heavy chains. As he pressed his ear to the metal, there was no sound of breathing, but instead movement - the dry scrape of fingernails on stone and a collective low rattling, like a thousand dead leaves skittering across a pavement.
Elias smiled, his torchlight flickering over the heavy bolts. They didn't need to be conscious; they only needed to be obedient and numerous.
Pulling the ancient key he’d been entrusted from a pocket, he slid it into the viewport lock and felt the heavy mechanism give way. As the window creaked open, he stepped back with a satisfied sigh.
"Finally," he whispered, his voice trembling with anticipation. "The pieces are all in place."
Marking the location on the map, he turned away from the room, and began to make his way back up the stairs. He needed to report his findings back to the others. The grand plan could now begin.

Crew tickets are £40 to cover catering from Friday dinner to Sunday lunch. A £20 deposit will be due at the time of booking, with full payment due by Friday, 2nd October 2026.
