Bli med på Winter of Soul, en tverrfaglig festival i Bergen som utforsker svart kultur og kultur fra hele verden gjennom film, musikk, seminarer, workshops, marked, gjestekokk, barneprogram og runway-show.
Årets festival setter fokus på 1980-tallet, Civil Rights Movement og Blaxploitation, både fra et amerikansk perspektiv og med globale og nåtidige koblinger, inkludert kontekst til Norge.
Festivalprogrammet inkluderer:
🎬 Filmer – Visninger av filmer som belyser Civil Rights Movement og Blaxploitation-kulturen.
🎤🎧 Konsert & DJ-sett – Nyt musikkopplevelser med artister som reflekterer afroamerikansk kultur og innflytelsen fra Blaxploitation-filmer, samt DJ-er som spiller rytmer inspirert av denne kulturen.
🍽️ Gjestekokk – Smak på autentisk mat laget av gjestekokker som bringer de riktige smakene fra svart kultur.
🛍️ Marked – Et marked med håndlagde produkter, kunstverk og klær inspirert av Black Culture og Blaxploitation.
🎨 Utstilling – Kunstutstilling som reflekterer Civil Rights Movement, Blaxploitation og afro-diasporas påvirkning på global kunst.
💃 Dans – Danseopplevelser som fremhever både afro-inspirerte tradisjoner og klubbkultur.
🎥 Film Masterclass – Lær om Blaxploitation-filmer, deres historie og kulturelle innflytelse.
🗣️ Seminar – Dypdykk i Civil Rights Movement, historiske bevegelser, og dagens spørsmål om rase, identitet, minoritetsrettigheter, sosial rettferdighet – og miljøpåvirkninger. Seminaret vil også ta for seg hvordan samfunnsbevegelser og miljøspørsmål er sammenkoblet, og hvordan vi kan tenke bærekraftig i kampen for sosial rettferdighet.
👨👩👧👦 Familieprogram på søndag – Spesialtilpassede aktiviteter for hele familien.
👗 Runway Show – En spektakulær motevisning som trekker inspirasjon fra afro-inspirert design og ballroom-kultur, med fokus på selvuttrykk, glamour og bevegelsens kraft i både afroamerikansk og LGBTQ+ kultur.

Winter of Soul - Festival 2026, 3rd edition
New location: Bergen International Cultural Centre | February 13-15, 2026
Join us at Winter of Soul, a multidisciplinary festival in Bergen celebrating Black culture and cultures from around the world through film, music, seminars, workshops, markets, guest chefs, children's programs, and a runway show.
This year's festival will focus on the 1980s, Civil Rights Movement, and Blaxploitation, both from an American perspective and with global and contemporary connections, including context for Norway.
Festival program includes:
🎬 Films – Screenings of films highlighting the Civil Rights Movement and Blaxploitation culture.
🎤🎧 Concert & DJ sets – Enjoy musical performances by artists reflecting African American culture and the influence of Blaxploitation films, along with DJs playing rhythms inspired by this culture.
🍽️ Guest Chef – Taste authentic food created by guest chefs bringing the true flavors of Black culture.
🛍️ Market – A market featuring handmade products, artwork, and clothing inspired by Black culture and Blaxploitation.
🎨 Exhibition – An art exhibition reflecting the Civil Rights Movement, Blaxploitation, and the influence of the African diaspora on global art.
💃 Dance – Dance experiences highlighting both Afro-inspired traditions and club culture.
🎥 Film Masterclass – Learn about Blaxploitation films, their history, and cultural influence.
🗣️ Seminar – A deep dive into the Civil Rights Movement, historical movements, and contemporary issues of race, identity, minority rights, social justice – and environmental impact. The seminar will also explore how social movements and environmental issues are interconnected and how we can think sustainably in the fight for social justice.
👨👩👧👦 Family Program on Sunday – Specially tailored activities for the whole family.
👗 Runway Show – A spectacular fashion show inspired by Afro-centric design and ballroom culture, focusing on self-expression, glamour, and the powerful movement within both African American and LGBTQ+ cultures.
