Love in the Victorian era was shaped by tradition, social rules, and heartfelt sentiment. From handwritten valentines and carefully supervised courtships to elaborate engagement customs and expectations of marriage, romance was both deeply emotional and highly structured. In this talk, we’ll uncover how Victorians expressed affection, navigated courtship, and celebrated Valentine’s Day in the 19th century.
Admission for lectures is just $3/person. Old Cowtown members and volunteers get in free!
