Step back in time to discover the art of working with natural beeswax. Participate in a live demonstration of this meticulous and lengthy process of candle dipping as they did in Colonial times. Then participants will switch gears and use beeswax for much more fun projects!
From 100% natural beeswax, learn how to make your own hand handdipped wick candle, and a 5" cinnamon room scenter from a stoneware cookie mold (designs vary), plus a small tree ornament.
A historic presentation throughout the class will reveal some interesting facts about Early American living and the art of candlemaking with actual reenactments from period dressed instructors, Greg and Peggy Geesaman.
This class will be held in the Landis Valley Museum Yellow Barn.
