Winter in America: in conjunction with traveling exhibition “Frontline Prophet: James Baldwin” works by Sabrina Nelson Curated by Ashara Ekundayo & Omo Misha MC’d by Oakland’s Poet Laureate with special performances by’ Tongo Eisen Martin, Darrius Simpson, Zourhair Mussa, & Tonya Foster.
In community partnership with: African American Museum & Library-Oakland, Alameda County Behavioral Health, Poet Laureate of Oakland, BAMBD, CDC & a conversation between Dr. Tonya Foster and Cat Brooks moderated by Ashara Ekundayo - the Poetics of Baldwin & Black Interiority in Modernity
