Our daily winter camp for kids is infused with scientific exploration and engaging activities. During Tucson's winter break, provide your kids with unique hands-on experiences that promote a love for learning. Each day includes special educational activities, a planetarium show, and visit to an exhibit related to the daily theme. Fusion Camps are located at Flandrau Science Center & Planetarium on the University of Arizona campus. This is a great winter camp opportunity for Tucson kids!

December 26 – December 30, 2022 (Monday through Friday)
AGE GROUPS:
Grades 1-2, and Grades 3-5
COST:
Flandrau Members: $60/day per student*
General Public: $70/day per student
TIMES:
Drop off time: 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
Camp Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Pick up time: 4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

2022 Program -1st – 2nd Grade
Monday, December 26
Space Explorers: Join us as we launch into an exploration of our solar system and constellations! We will make models and explore patterns of stars with a hands-on constellation activity. Continue learning about planets and stars during a planetarium show and a visit to our Solar System exhibit.
Tuesday, December 27
Amazing Sharks: Dive into life under the sea as we learn all about shark anatomy and behavior. We will also visit the Sharks: Magnificent and Misunderstood exhibit and watch Great White Shark in our planetarium theater.
Wednesday, December 28
Science Detectives: Develop your detective skills as we discover how to gather clues and collect evidence to solve mysteries. Be prepared to have a fun day full of inspecting, detecting, and experimenting!
Thursday, December 29
Junior Engineers: Ready, set, build! This camp will ignite your inner engineer! We will explore the world of simple machines using Legos®. Develop your engineering skills as you assemble, test, and modify your builds.
Friday, December 30
Crazy About Chemistry: Are you ready for a day of fun experimentation? Develop your problem-solving and observation skills while learning about the states of matter and chemical reactions. Turn the ordinary into the amazing as you observe everyday items bubble, fizz, and pop!

Lego® Innovators: Calling all inventors and engineers! If you like building with Legos® and tinkering with machines, this is the camp for you! Explore the amazing work of gears, pulleys, levels, and wheels as you build, test, and modify machines.
Tuesday, December 27
Magma to Mountains: Join us on a geologic journey as we follow the adventures of rocks, fossils, minerals, and other areas of geology. We will use experiments and hands on activities to discover the wonders of earth science including volcanoes, the rock cycle, and more!
Wednesday, December 28
World of Bugs: Get ready to explore the amazing world of bugs! Discover insect characteristics, learn about their adaptations and their life cycles. We will visit our Wild World of Bugs exhibit and view Bugs! A Rainforest Adventure in our planetarium theater.
Thursday, December 29
We Are Stars: Discover cosmic chemistry and our explosive origins. Learn how hydrogen, helium and carbon, the very building blocks of life, formed in the start of the universe and then bring it all back to us – we are made of stars!
Friday, December 30
3-2-1 Blast Off! Orbiters, Landers, Rovers, oh my! We’ll explore various spacecraft and their purposes. Design and build your own spacecraft and rocket. The sky’s the limit with your creativity in this camp.
