About this Event

Imagine living before modern science and noticing that the birds filling your summer forest have vanished.

Where did they go? What would you think? And how would you solve the mystery of bird migration? Join us and unravel the phenomenon that is bird migration monitoring, history of this field of study, and the importance of understanding the movement patterns of our feathered friends.

The Winter Birding series is hosted by TRCA’s bander in charge and ornithologist Shane Abernethy. Shane has 7 years of ornithological experience and 3 years of banding at the Bird Research Station at TTP. He also produces the popular Feathered Friday series via TRCA Instagram.

This is a seated talk, taking place indoors at the Nature Centre at TTP.
