About this Event

The winter months provide more visibility throughout the forest, with the chance to see what could not be seen in other months. Many questions can then be asked. Who is active in the forest in the winter? Who is leaving those footprints in the mud or trails in the snow. What has gnawed on the bark of that tree? Tracks in snow tell a story. This workshop will provide an overview of animal tracks, scat and markings that a variety of animals active in the winter months in Van Cortlandt Park leave behind and provide a better insight of what is living in the park. Be sure to dress warm and wear proper footwear!

Meeting Location: VCPA Educational Garden and Compost Site; enter park at Mosholu Avenue and Broadway intersection, the Garden and Compost Site is across from the Riverdale Stables parking lot.
