The Winston-Salem Police Department has drop boxes for expired and unwanted prescription pills. No other forms of medication, such as liquids, gels, syringes or aerosol products, can be accepted. The drop boxes are for households only. Pills from businesses, health care facilities, long-term care facilities, pharmaceutical representatives, pharmacies, doctor offices and veterinary clinics will not be accepted. Citizens should check in with the officer at the front desk first for instructions before getting started.
