An interactive workshop providing opportunities to gain insider insights, SME success stories & actionable steps to get noticed.
About this Event

Government is Australia’s biggest buyer, yet many businesses feel locked out or confused about how to even get noticed. This workshop breaks down the barriers in a practical, jargon-free way. Attendees will leave with insider insights, real stories from other SMEs who’ve done it, along with practical actions you can implement immediately to improve your government-readiness.

The session will also highlight the once-in-a-generation opportunity for Brisbane businesses around the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

This interactive 2-hour workshop will be delivered over two sections:

Presentation

Join Thomas and the panel as they share insights into how government really buys, what they look for in their suppliers and partners, the opportunities around Brisbane 2032, and the practical steps businesses should take before chasing government opportunities.

Panel Discussion

Following the presentation, there will be a practical, audience-driven conversation with government and small business representatives who have successfully cracked the code. The panel will feature rapid-fire questions, a “hot seat” case study with a volunteer from the audience, and a chance for attendees to ask the questions they’ve always wanted answered.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Understand how procurement works and what government buyers actually value in a supplier
  • Learn practical steps to become “government-ready” and more attractive to decision-makers
  • Explore opportunities linked to all levels of Government, the 2032 Olympics, and beyond
  • Hear real-world stories from SMEs who started small and went on to supply at national and global levels
  • Get your own questions answered in an open, interactive panel discussion

TARGET AUDIENCE

This workshop would be ideal for small to medium business owners, managers, and business development professionals who:

  • Want to win government work but don’t know where to start
  • Have tried and struggled to win Government Business and contracts
  • Have secured one or more contracts and are looking to take their government engagement to the next level.

Attendees will receive access to a free copy of Thomas Pollocks book: Winning Government Business: The 6 Rules and 9 Absolutes.
