Venez entendre le récit de la fermeture de Wings et du processus de création d'une exposition qui rendrait hommage à sa riche histoire, racontés par la commissaire d'exposition elle-même

Présenté par la Fondation JIA, en partenariat avec le MEM—Centre des mémoires montréalaises

Dans cette présentation, Karen Cho nous partage ses réflexions sur le processus de transformation de près de 130 ans d’histoire en une exposition vivante, « Nouilles Wing – Le cœur du Quartier chinois », et sur le processus de documentation des dernières semaines de production de Nouilles Wing et de l’héritage qu’elle laisse aux générations futures, lesquelles feront partie d’un film documentaire à venir. En se concentrant sur la période qui débute en 1964 l’emménagement de Wings dans un des bâtiments les plus historiques et emblématiques du Quartier chinois, la présentation nous invite aussi à réfléchir à l’importance du passé pour éclairer le futur de l’îlot Wings.

Come hear about Wing's closing down and the process of making an exhibition honouring its rich history, from the exhibition curator herself

Presented by the JIA Foundation, in partnership with the MEM—Centre des mémoires montréalaises

In this presentation, curator and filmmaker Karen Cho will reflect on the process of transforming nearly 130 years of history into the living exhibition “Wing Noodles – The Heart of Chinatown” as well as the process of capturing Wing Noodles’ final weeks of production and the future of Wing’s legacy in a forthcoming documentary film. Focusing on the era from 1964 onwards, where Wings occupied one of Chinatown’s most historic and iconic buildings, this presentation will also challenge us to reflect on how the past can inform the future for the Wing’s block of Chinatown. 

This lecture will be offered in English.
