Winger
Winger is an American hard rock band from New York City, hailed by Rolling Stone as “practically unmatched in 80s metal.” Their debut album, Winger (1988) achieved platinum status and stayed on the Billboard Top 200 chart for more than 60 weeks. The band is known for hit songs like “Seventeen” and “Headed for a Heartbreak.”
With hard-pop melodies and technically dazzling instrumental work, Winger toured with legendary rockers like Bad Company, Scorpions, Cinderella, Bon Jovi, Poison, Skid Row and Tesla. In 1990, Winger was nominated for an American Music Award for “Best New Heavy Metal Band.”
Their album, In the Heart of the Young (1990) - like their debut record – reached platinum status with smash hits like “Can’t Get Enuff,” “Miles Away,” and “Easy Come Easy Go.” Their second successful record took them around the world on tour with high profile and world-renowned bands like KISS, Scorpions, ZZ Top, Extreme, and Slaughter.
Winger has made a name for themselves with relentless touring, while winning the hearts of fans and critics alike with exceptional musicianship. Lead singer Kip Winger’s powerful vocals and the band’s incredible songwriting have helped the group to consistently evolve and maintain a musically progressive career.
FireHouse
FireHouse has been rockin’ for more than 30 years. Their music has taken them all over the world and has produced millions of record sales around the world. In 1990, their first album, FireHouse, was released. A string of Top-10 hits vaulted the band to international fame and recognition. At the 1991 American Music Awards, FireHouse was awarded Best New Hard Rock/Metal Band, beating out bands like Nirvana and Alice in Chains.
The band’s second album, Hold Your Fire, earned the band two more gold albums and more than a million record sales worldwide. In 1995, FireHouse’s third album produced another Top-40 hit that took the group around the world, bringing them millions of new fans. After years of international success, in 1998, FireHouse toured the United States on the Rock Never Stops tour, which also featured well-known rock bands like Slaughter, Warrant, Quiet Riot, and LA Guns.
As music changes over time, FireHouse continues to evolve their musical style, while at the same time managing to hang onto their hard rock roots. Released in October of 2003, album number eight is no exception. You can still count on hearing the legendary, soulful and melodic hard rock that brought FireHouse fame and fortune.
