About this Event
After summer break we wanted to welcome you back to Whistle Pig University with a classic BBQ mixer. Wine School, on the back porch, with instructors Sarah Evans and Phil Chase (from Weber Street Liquors). We will greet you with a special welcome pour to set your palette for the dinner, where we've paired an additional 3 pours the meal. Finally, well close out the eventing with a dessert pour that will delite your tastebuds and open up a new world of wine, food, and end-of-summer fun.
Chef Dani has been working on a special menu for this BBQ event based on Italian favorites. Students will be starting with a table appetizer of whipped Feta and roasted red pepper dip served with crudite and naan. Sarah and Phill will pair this with just the right regional wine to set your palette for the flavors to come.
Our main course is Italian pulled chicken on a polenta cake topped with a seasonal sauce. This is served with a sweet corn salad and green beans paired with another personally chosen regional wine to accent the textures and flavors of this subtle late-summer dish.
Before dessert, a frozen Lemonciello to cleanse your taste buds.
For dessert, Champaign blush cupcakes paired with our last pour of the evening.
Throughout the courses, Sarah and Phill will speak to each paired wine, explaining the pairing choice, the flavors, the vintner, and more! The food, the pairings, and the company make for another wonderful and memorable Wine School and a great way to close out the summer with friends.
