Prepare your pack to paint a painted dog! Oh, and there's wine!
Gather your friends (age 21 and over) or come and make friends in the Niabi Zoo Discovery Center to enjoy your favorite wine while learning about endangered African painted dogs and how to paint them during this special Wine & Design.
All skill levels are welcome! You don't have to be an artist to enjoy learning.
Artist: Pat Beréskin has taught art for 28 years at the Beréskin Gallery & Art Academy in Bettendorf. She serves as an "Artist in Residence" for the community. Pat was the artist at our 2024 Wine & Design teaching how to paint a snow leopard to help with the Zoo's recovery and rebuilding the cat habitats.
Special Guest: Dr. Greg Rasmussen from Painted Dog Research (PDR) in Zimbabwe, Niabi's long-time conservation partner. He will share unique features and stories about African painted dogs and the collaborative work that Niabi Zoo is doing with PDR to save this species. Proceeds will go to support the continued conservation efforts of PDR for painted dogs in the field.
Cost per person: $50, including art supplies, animal inspiration, and wine (plus other drink options).
Enjoy some wine, paint for fun, and help save a species at the same time!
