Wine & Art Talk: Altered Familiar
About this Event
This exhibition explores the strange emotional power of objects we think we already know — toys, symbols of childhood, pop imagery, beauty, softness, instinct, and transformation. What begins as familiar becomes uncanny. What once represented comfort may begin to feel charged, fragile, seductive, or strange.
Anchored by the work of Maïté Côté, whose transformed teddy bears examine innocence, attachment, and adaptation, The Altered Familiar brings together artists working across hyperrealism, sculpture, street art, pop culture, and contemporary figuration. Together, the works ask us to reconsider the objects, images, and symbols that shape memory, desire, and identity.
Gallery Director Jonathan Anderson will lead a casual walkthrough and conversation about the exhibition, offering insight into the artists, the curatorial vision, and the larger cultural ideas behind the show.
This evening is designed for collectors, artists, neighbors, and anyone curious about contemporary art. Guests are invited to enjoy wine, ask questions, and experience the gallery in a more personal setting.
Wine will be served. Space is limited.
