Emmy-nominated host Jermaine Stone hits the Two-up Wine-down Festival in Charlottesville, Virginia, with Act II of The Wine and Hip Hop Terroir Tapes Listening Sessions!! Terroir is the French term for combining the growing conditions around the grapes that produce your wines. Everything from the type of soil to climate to local culture affects how wine tastes. The Terroir Tapes listening sessions are the kinds of wine tastings that hip-hop heads have craved for years. It’s an educational immersive tasting series that takes attendees on a dual exploration of the geography of the wine regions responsible for the wines we enjoy compared to the regions that are home to the rap music we fell in love with. Host Jermaine Stone, driven by a genuine passion for both, dissects the connection between the environment of both, wine and hip hop.
Pouring 3 bottles Jermaine will delve into the distinct characteristics of classic hip-hop regions, dissecting the tempo, metaphors, slang, and more that identify its unique cultural identity, connecting the dots between the hip-hop region and its cultural influences, from dance styles to the production it inspires.
Simultaneously, the tasting takes a sensory journey through delicious wine to unravel the terroir of Virginia wine. Guests are taken on an authentic exploration, comparing the environmental elements shaping wine and hip-hop.
Guests also have the option to purchase Jermaine’s revolutionary wine book, “Wine Barz Vol 1 For The Love” which hits shelves on October 7th.
"Wine Barz Vol 1: For The Love" is a groundbreaking book and soundtrack that blends wine education with hip-hop culture, featuring five original tracks produced by The Heatmakerz. Exclusively available through a QR code within the book, these tracks from Jermaine Stone's EP "For The Love Vol.1" serve as a creative bridge to understanding wine through rap lyrics and storytelling. The book offers a fresh perspective, complete with wine terms, maps, and cultural context, designed to entertain and educate simultaneously.
